Kek Gula Hangus

Dah seminggu teringin nak makan Kek Gula Hangus / Kek Sarang Semut / Honeycomb Cake. Seminggu jugak aku paksa ma wat tapi ma busy dengan kelas agama *macam biasasampai muncung² aku ma x sempat buatkan* And macam biasa la, aku kalau nak masak selalunya main peeking² dulu kat blog-blog masak macam Mat Gebu's ngan Hana's.

Okay.. resipi ni aku ambil dari blog Kak Nor, tapi step buat adunan aku ikut cara sendiri.

Bahan-bahan

125 gm / ½ buku butter

4 biji telur

1/4 cawan susu pekat

1 cawan tepung gandum

1 cawan air

1 1/4 cawan gula

2 sudu kecil soda bikarbonat

Cara - cara

1. Goreng gula dengan api kecil sampai cair dan menjadi perang.

2. Tuang air sedikit demi sedikit dan kacau. Masa tuang air make sure be careful k, bila kita tuang air dalam caramel nanti die start sizzle, bubbling, terpercik.

3. Cairkan butter dalam caramel dan sejukkan.

4. Dalam bekas lain, kacau telur sampai pecah, jangan pukul.

5. Masukkan susu dan kacau rata.

5. Masukkan tepung yang telah diayak bersama soda bikarbonat sedikit demi sedikit dan pukul. Pastikan pukul sampai habis eh, sampai biji-biji tepung tu dah dissolve atau dalam erti kata lain… sebati maa. Heeh!

6. Masukkan caramel tadi dalam adunan

7. Perap at least 3-4 jam.

8. Bakar pada suhu 175Âșc selama 40-45 minit.

Kalau ikut tips mat gebu:

Guna api bawah untuk 35 minit pertama, yang selebihnya guna api atas & bawah

Mentarang

The first time I heard of Mentarang was early 2010, when my cousin was having his wedding reception at Hutan Melintang, Selangor.  There was so many roadside stalls selling mentarang from Tanjung Karang to Sabak Bernam. *if im not mistaken*

I never find the name “mentarang” is weird, though I do think mentarang is weird the first time I set my eyes on it.  The anatomy is.  Have you seen Senario XX?  Remember the spaceship? Well, the shape of mentarang is almost like that, but instead of blue, it is white in colour.

We have been told that the easiest way to clean mentarang is to leave it in a basin of seawater, as the mentarang breathe, the seawater will clean through its cleft. Brush those shellfish under tap water and it is ready to be cook.  Here is another picture of mentarang.  Much better isn’t it?

Read this.  Great article-really. I was all excited when I read this, interesting how they went into mud and collect those weird-looking-yet-delicious creature.  To me, this shellfish can be consider as ‘exotic’.

Buried Treasure – Mentarang

Best x? Ohh and-and tak sangka dalam selut tu ada ular dengan belut. Ke belut memang hidup dalam selut.? Belut selut. I really don’t know. Hee!

p.s: Tsunami creature (0_0)’

Double p.s: Paling sedap pernah makan Mentarang Lomak Cili Api. ;p

Triple p.s:  Ada orang tu duduk Sg. Besar, tapi dia tak pernah makan mentarang. Hikhik! Ngeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! ;p

Wedding Guestbook

Since I was into cardmaking *xdelah sgt*, I agreed to make a wedding guestbook for my sister’s reception ceremony.  Few items, I already have but still I made my way to KLCC and bought few extra supplies.

Main item –the book.  It is actually a sketching book, I bought it at a bookstore named Advanco, near Bagus Baking Solutions Taman Melawati for the price of RM10+.

Those bride and bridegroom’s outfit are sure cute with the necklace and flowers attached to it.  And the bottom of it is the name of the newlyweds.  This is originally the idea of my sister herself.  The morning of the reception day, with our puffy face and morning breath *eew!* she simply cut out names on her wedding card and paste it on the book.  *bagus betul budak ni*  Sorry that the names are not clear.

The pattern paper is from the designer “Basicgrey”.  Pattern name is Romani and the code is GYP 534 Bohemian. I bought the ribbon at DIY AEON AU2.  RM1.80 je.  Murah k.

Those handmade paper flowers also from KLCC from the designer Momoyo.  Total 30 pieces of ‘em.  The ribbon is the same ribbon from the front page and the green background paper I cannot recall from what designer, sorry.  The wedding card was the bride’s idea.  *otak bagus* She wants to keep it as a memory. :)

I was worried that it would turn out ugly but in the end I am satisfied with it even to some people it is too simple.

Emak pengantin punya ucapan.  Hakhak! oh oh!  See those wedding couples?  I was the want who drew it! * bangga, ntah pape* haha!  I copied from pakcik google, of course, the original one is cuter.

Okay la tu kan? Hik! ;p

Wishes from cousins.  Cantik dia orang lukis² tu.  Suke!  Honestly, only a few people signed this guestbook because the table it has been placed was not tactical enough.  So, my sister decided that she will use it on her 2nd wedding reception in Penang.  I never get the chance to look at it though, not yet.  Totally forgot about this book.

1st Oatmeal Lunch

DSC00869

As soon as the day of my sister’s wedding reception arrived, my body still hates me. My weight was 52 and I am sure anyone can tell how much I weigh on that special day. I was so bummed. Few days ago I eat less, drink more plain water and expect to lose some weight. Guess what? It doesn’t work!

Today I cannot believe I ate oatmeal with Gulai Lemak Cili Padi Udang. I thought it was ridiculous to eat the oatmeal that way. But seriously, you have no idea what other “oatmeal consumers” take with it. Try check this out.. Few ways to eat oatmeal without PUKING :P I know it sounds crazy but whatever it is I really, really, really want to lose weight.

Their idea actually are so BRILLIANT. The oatmeal taste strong, I added a few more spoons of gravy so it will taste oat-less. This is my first try and I think I can live with it. *walaupun kurang nikmat* pfft!

BOO ME!
